Denies Fallout with Shah Rukh Khan After Dilwale
Mumbai: Following their huge success Chennai Express, Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale failed to repeat the same box office success. Ever since, there have been rumors of a split between the actor and director. But now, Rohit Shetty has set the record straight in a recent interview on the Game Changers podcast with Komal Nahta.
Rohit Shetty Dispels Dilwale Rumors
Brushing aside the rumors about their relationship, Rohit Shetty categorically said, “Nahi aisa kuch nahi” (No, nothing like that). He explained that there is no ill will between him and SRK. Rohit went on to say, “Ek respect hai humare beech me” (There’s respect between us). He explained that after Dilwale, both of them mutually decided to start their own production house and produce films under their banner. “Agar loss bhi ho to humara ho, jabki loss nahi hua tha” (If there’s a loss, it’s ours, but it wasn’t a loss). While the film received a mixed domestic response, Dilwale fared well overseas.
A Strong Bond with Ajay Devgn and More
On the podcast, Rohit also discussed strong bonds that he shares with industry peers. He shared how close he is to actor Ajay Devgn, whom he considers an elder brother. Rohit also shared his friendships with actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, highly praising Deepika for her commitment. Rohit shared the anecdote of how Deepika completed the last schedule of Singham Again while she was four months pregnant, highlighting the uniqueness of such friendships in the industry.

Shah Rukh Khan will next feature in King, where he will be accompanied by his daughter Suhana Khan on screen for the first time. The movie is directed by Siddharth Anand and also features Abhishek Bachchan and Abhay Verma in lead roles.
In the meanwhile, Rohit Shetty is occupied with producing Singham Again, the latest addition to his cop universe. The much-awaited film will see a star cast, following the success of his action franchise.
