Malaika Arora finds herself back in the news after a Mumbai magistrate court issued a fresh ₹5,000 bailable warrant against her. She did not show up in court to give evidence in the current 2012 hotel fight case against actor Saif Ali Khan.
Malaika Arora Skips Court Again
The court initially issued the warrant on March 15 when both Malaika Arora and her sister Amrita Arora Ladak missed the hearing. Amrita later testified and attended the hearing on March 29, but Malaika did not show up. Since she failed to attend again, the court renewed the warrant and requested a report by April 29.
What Happened in 2012?
Saif Ali Khan, Malaika Arora, and others had dinner at Wasabi Restaurant in Taj Hotel in Mumbai on February 22, 2012. While having dinner, Iqbal Mir Sharma, a South African businessman, requested them to calm down. Saif responded fiercely and punched him and broke his nose, he said. Saif’s friends also physically attacked his father-in-law, Raman Patel, he added.
The Saif group consisted of Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Amrita Arora, and Malaika Arora.
Why Malaika Arora’s Testimony Would Matter
She was at the scene. She might be able to explain what went down during that night. The court values her as one of the witnesses in the case. Her recurring absence has also led to some delays, making the court insist on stricter actions.
