Safdarjung, the base weather station of the city, recorded a maximum of 39.6°C, which is 4.5°C above normal.
The lowest temperature was 25.9°C — six degrees higher than the season’s average — the highest night temperature in April in the past six months, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
