Rapper Kid Cudi will testify Thursday in the New York sex trafficking trial of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. His testimony will follow that of George Kaplan, a former personal assistant who described the intense and threatening atmosphere while working for Combs.
Kaplan worked for Combs from 2013 to 2015. He described 80- to 100-hour workweeks and recalled times when Combs became angry over small mistakes. For example, Combs shouted at him for bringing two half-gallon water bottles instead of one gallon. Kaplan said, “He was very close to my face.”
Rapper Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, is expected to give brief testimony. Last week, R&B singer Cassie (Casandra Ventura) said Combs threatened to harm Cudi. She said Combs wanted to blow up Cudi’s car and hurt him after learning about her brief relationship with the rapper.

Combs, 55, pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking and racketeering charges after his September 2024 arrest in Manhattan. The federal investigation started in November 2023, a day after Cassie filed a lawsuit accusing Combs of sexual and physical abuse. Combs settled the lawsuit for $20 million the next day.
Cassie testified she suffered abuse for nearly 11 years while in a relationship with Combs from 2007 to 2018. She also told the court that Combs demanded $20,000 from her mother, Regina Ventura. Regina paid the money but Combs returned it days later.
The trial is exposing a complex web of allegations and testimonies. It shines a light on the power and volatility surrounding Sean Combs.
