Mumbai, India – Adani Airport Holdings has terminated its ground handling concession contract with Turkish aviation company Celebi with immediate effect at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA), Ahmedabad.
The move comes after the Government of India revoked the security clearance of Celebi, and Adani moved quickly to protect uninterrupted airport operations.
“After the Government of India decision to withdraw the security clearance of Celebi, we have cancelled the ground handling concession contracts of Celebi at Mumbai and Ahmedabad airports,” said an Adani spokesperson who runs both the airports.
Seamless Transition Assured
Adani Airports has directed Celebi to hand over all ground handling facilities immediately, ensuring operations remain uninterrupted. The company has also already appointed new ground handling agencies to operate at both airports.
“Existing Celebi staff at Mumbai and Ahmedabad airports will be transferred to the new ground handling agencies on their existing terms and conditions,” the spokesperson affirmed.
Commitment to Uninterrupted Services
Adani stressed that airport operations will be unaffected throughout the transition. The firm also emphasized that it remains committed to upholding high standards as well as serving national interest.
Adani Airport Holdings has seven airports operating in India currently, namely Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Mangalore, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Thiruvananthapuram.
