The X account of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has been withheld in India just days after the satirical political group became one of the biggest viral trends on social media.
The account, @CJP_2029, was blocked after the group gained massive attention online and even crossed the Instagram follower count of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke shared a screenshot of the blocked account on social media and wrote, “As expected Cockroach Janta Party’s account has been withheld in India.”
When users open the account now, X shows a message saying: “@CJP_2029 has been withheld in IN in response to a legal demand.” The exact reason behind the action is still not clear.
New ‘Cockroach is Back’ Account Appears
Interestingly, only a few hours after the original account was withheld, another account called “Cockroach is Back” appeared on X. The new page quickly started gaining followers and crossed more than 21,000 followers within a short time. Its bio reads, “Cockroaches don’t die!”
The first post from the account said: “You thought you can get rid of us? Lol.” The post soon started circulating widely among supporters of the movement.
Why Did X Withhold the Account?
According to X, accounts can be withheld if the platform receives a valid legal request from government authorities or other authorised agencies. The company says such restrictions are usually limited to the specific country where the legal demand is made.
The move came at a time when the Cockroach Janata Party was rapidly becoming popular for its satirical content targeting Indian politics, unemployment, and government-related issues.

CJP Crosses BJP’s Instagram Followers
The Cockroach Janata Party has seen unbelievable growth on Instagram in just a few days. The page currently has around 13.5 million followers and recently claimed that it had overtaken the BJP’s Instagram following.
In one viral post, the group mocked the ruling party by writing: “World’s largest party they said.” The page has become popular mainly among young users because of its memes, jokes, and sarcastic political posts.
How Cockroach Janata Party Started
The movement began after controversial comments made by Justice Surya Kant. During a hearing, he reportedly compared some unemployed youth to “cockroaches” and “parasites.” The remarks triggered strong reactions online, especially from young people struggling with unemployment and rising expenses.
Soon after the backlash, Abhijeet Dipke launched the Cockroach Janata Party on social media. The group describes itself in a humorous way and says people can join if they are:
- Unemployed
- Lazy
- Chronically online
- Able to “rant professionally”
Its funny posts and satire quickly connected with young audiences across India.
Who is Abhijeet Dipke?
Abhijeet Dipke is a political communication strategist and previously worked with the Aam Aadmi Party on social media and election campaigns. He says the movement reflects the frustration many young Indians feel over jobs, politics, and the economy.
CJP Founder Claims Instagram Account May Be Targeted
A few minutes after the X account was withheld, Dipke shared another screenshot online showing an email from Instagram asking whether he was facing trouble accessing the account.
He claimed there may have been attempts to hack the Instagram account of the Cockroach Janata Party. However, there has been no official confirmation about any hacking attempt yet.
Even after the restriction on X, the movement continues to grow online and remains one of the most talked-about social media trends in India right now.
