At least three schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails on Friday morning, triggering panic and security alerts across the city. Authorities immediately launched search operations after the threats surfaced.
Officials from Delhi Fire Services confirmed that teams rushed to the affected schools to carry out safety checks.
BT Tamil School Reports Threat in Central Delhi
One of the schools, BT Tamil School in central Delhi’s Jhandewalan area, informed the Delhi Fire Services about the threat around 9:12 am, officials said.
Police and emergency teams reached the spot soon after receiving the alert.
Students Evacuated, Police Deployed on Campus
In a message sent to parents, another school confirmed that it had received a security threat earlier in the morning. The school said police personnel were present on campus and all students were evacuated safely as a precaution.
The message added that classes would resume only after authorities declared the premises safe.
Fresh Threats After Earlier Hoax Emails
These latest bomb threat emails come just days after at least 13 schools in Delhi received similar threats on Monday. After extensive checks, authorities later declared those threats to be hoaxes.
A senior police officer said the earlier emails were sent using the username “zachary jenkins.” The message claimed that “Delhi will become Khalistan in the memory of Afzal Guru” and was signed by “Khalistan National Army.” The email also mentioned a possible attack on Parliament later in the week.
Threat Emails Spread to Punjab Schools
Following the Delhi incidents, nearly 10 schools in Chandigarh and Mohali received bomb threat emails the next day. On Wednesday morning, at least 18 schools in Mohali reported fresh threats.
According to reports, the emails were sent between 7:30 am and 8 am, just before schools were scheduled to open, forcing authorities to step in quickly.
Security Agencies on High Alert
Police and security agencies remain on high alert as investigations continue. Officials have urged schools and parents to stay calm and cooperate with authorities during security checks.
So far, no explosives have been found in any of the cases.
