Several schools in the national capital faced a Delhi school bomb threat on Monday, leading to panic among students and parents. Schools evacuated their campuses immediately after receiving threat emails, while police teams rushed to the locations.
Emergency services reached the schools within minutes.
Threat Email Arrives as Classes Begin
The Indian School principal Tania Joshi said the Delhi school bomb threat email arrived shortly after morning classes started. School authorities alerted police and parents without delay.
“We evacuated the entire building and the nearby field to ensure safety,” Joshi said.
Bomb disposal and dog squads inspected the campus thoroughly. Police, fire brigade, and ambulance teams remained on standby during the operation.
Parents Given Choice After Safety Clearance
Incidents like the Delhi school bomb threat have increased anxiety among parents and school staff. Many schools are now strengthening security checks, monitoring emails closely, and coordinating regularly with local police to prevent panic and ensure student safety.
Authorities later confirmed that no suspicious objects were found. School management allowed classes to resume after clearance.
“Even after the all-clear, we informed parents and allowed them to take their children home,” Joshi added.
Venkateshwar School Follows Standard Safety Steps
Venkateshwar School in Rohini also received a similar threat email. Principal Namita Singhal said the school followed all safety guidelines.
“Bomb threat emails have become common over the past year and a half,” she said.
“The bomb disposal team is checking the entire campus carefully.”
Bomb Threats to Delhi Schools Continue
Delhi schools have faced repeated bomb threats in recent times. On October 28 last year, over 200 schools received similar emails. Authorities later declared those threats fake.
In another case, officials traced a 17-year-old student who sent threat emails to hundreds of schools. Reports say more than 500 schools received bomb threats in 2024 alone.
Police Urge Calm, Cyber Probe Underway
Police have asked parents and schools to stay calm. Cyber teams are tracing the email sources. Officials said strict action will follow once suspects are identified.
