On Monday, February 10, 2025, President Droupadi Murmu visited Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, to share in the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela. She arrived in the morning and was ate by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. During her visit, President Murmu took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam — the sacred convergence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the fabulous Saraswati gutters. Following the ritual bath, she offered prayers and shared in religious observances, emphasizing her respect for India’s rich spiritual traditions.

Before taking the holy dip at Triveni Sangam–the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati–President Murmu fed migratory birds at the site.

According to a press release issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan, during the Maha Kumbh, the President will offer prayers at Sangam as well as Akshayvat and Bade Hanuman Temple. He said that the President will also visit the Digital Kumbh Experience Center. The country’s first President Dr. Rajendra Prasad also took a bath in Sangam during the Maha Kumbh.
