The CBSE Re-evaluation 2026 process for Class 12 students has officially started today, June 1. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has activated its post-result portal, allowing students to apply for verification of marks, obtain photocopies of answer sheets, and request re-evaluation of answers. The board says the updated system is designed to provide a smooth and transparent experience for students.
CBSE Re-evaluation 2026 Portal Goes Live
CBSE announced that the post-result activities portal would become operational from June 1, 2026. The board delayed the process slightly to ensure that all technical issues were addressed and that students could use the portal without facing difficulties.
According to CBSE, the decision was taken to maintain high standards of evaluation and to provide a glitch-free process for students seeking verification or re-evaluation of their results.
The board has advised students to carefully follow the instructions available on the portal before submitting their applications.
Why Was the Portal Delayed?
The launch of the portal came after several students reported technical problems when the answer sheet access system was initially made available. Many users complained about blank pages, broken links, captcha errors, and difficulties in accessing their scanned answer sheets.
CBSE later stated that vulnerabilities found in the OnMark portal of its service provider had been identified and contained. The board added that efforts were ongoing to ensure there were no additional security or technical issues affecting the system.
CBSE Assures a Transparent Process
CBSE has emphasized that the updated portal is aimed at providing a transparent and reliable process for all students. Officials said the delay was necessary to strengthen security measures and improve the user experience.
The board believes the changes will help students complete the verification and re-evaluation process without unnecessary complications.
Reduced Fees for CBSE Re-evaluation 2026
In a major relief for students and parents, CBSE has significantly reduced the fees for post-result services. The revised fee structure is as follows:
- Photocopy of evaluated answer sheet: ₹100 (Earlier ₹700)
- Verification of marks: ₹100 (Earlier ₹500)
- Re-checking or re-evaluation of each question: ₹25
The fee reduction comes after criticism from students regarding the high charges for accessing answer sheets and applying for verification. Many students have welcomed the move, saying it makes the process more affordable and accessible.
How Students Can Apply
Students who wish to challenge their marks or review their answer sheets can visit the official CBSE post-result portal and follow the required steps. The process generally includes:
- Applying for a photocopy of the evaluated answer sheet.
- Reviewing the answer sheet carefully.
- Requesting verification of marks if needed.
- Applying for re-evaluation of specific questions.
Students are advised to keep their roll number, school number, and other required details ready before starting the application process.
