The National Testing Agency has started the online process for NEET UG 2026 candidates to submit their bank account details and receive a refund of the examination fee.
Candidates can now visit the official NEET website and fill in their banking information through the special portal opened by NTA. Students appearing for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam will not have to pay any additional fee for the fresh test.
The NEET UG 2026 re-exam is being conducted after the May 3 examination was cancelled over allegations of a paper leak and other irregularities.
NTA Starts NEET UG 2026 Fee Refund Process
The NEET UG 2026 refund process officially began on May 21, 2026. Candidates who had already paid the examination fee for the cancelled exam can now submit their bank account details to get the refund amount.
Students must carefully enter the correct bank account information on the official portal to avoid payment issues. The agency has advised candidates to regularly check updates related to refunds, admit cards, and the revised exam schedule.
NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Date and Timing
The NEET UG 2026 re-exam will be held on June 21, 2026. According to NTA, the examination will take place in pen-and-paper mode from 2 PM to 5:15 PM.
More than 22 lakh students are expected to appear for the re-test across the country. The re-exam was announced after the earlier NEET UG examination held on May 3 was cancelled due to controversy surrounding the alleged paper leak.
Candidates Can Change Exam City Preference
NTA has also allowed students to update their current address and preferred exam city for the re-exam. This option has been given to candidates who may have shifted to another location after the original examination process.
Students can make changes on the official website till May 21, 2026, up to 11:50 PM. The agency said exam centres for the re-test could be different from the earlier ones depending on the updated city choice and seat availability.

The NEET UG 2026 controversy has remained one of the biggest education issues in the country this year.
Several agencies are currently investigating the alleged paper leak network. Recently, the Central Bureau of Investigation reportedly conducted raids at a coaching centre in Latur as part of the ongoing investigation.
