RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh does not practice Hindutva-based politics. He said the Sangh focuses on building a strong nation by developing strong individuals. Bhagwat explained that individual growth remains the foundation of a healthy society. According to him, when individuals become capable and disciplined, society naturally grows stronger. He said people often misunderstand the RSS because they try to judge it from the outside.
RSS Is a Social Force Beyond Labels, Says Bhagwat
Addressing common perceptions, Bhagwat said some people see the RSS as a paramilitary organisation. Others think it works only as a service-oriented body. He said both views are incomplete. According to him, the RSS works as a social force that goes beyond such narrow definitions. The Sangh contributes to society in many forms and adapts to changing times. Bhagwat made these remarks while speaking on the theme “Sangh Yatra – New Horizons, New Dimensions” at a programme marking 100 years of the RSS.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said that the Sangh believes long-term national strength comes from disciplined individuals working together for society. According to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, social unity and character building are essential for India’s future growth.

World Expects India to Lead Again
Bhagwat said the world now looks at India with new expectations. He said many countries want India to play a leadership role on the global stage. He urged people to join Sangh activities to strengthen society and the nation. According to him, national strength grows when citizens actively participate in social work. He stressed that unity remains the biggest strength of any nation.
Only Those Who Unite Are True Hindus
Speaking on cultural values, Bhagwat said only those who work to unite society can be called Hindus. He said devotion to the motherland is essential for national progress. According to him, the world often understands power more than truth. Therefore, a nation must acquire strength. However, he added that power should always be used with restraint and responsibility.
Women Should Have Equal Role in Governance
On women’s participation, Bhagwat said women are completely independent. He said their role in governance should be 50 per cent, not limited to 33 per cent. According to him, true development is not possible without equal participation of women. He stressed that decision-making bodies must reflect equal representation.
Call for Local Action to Protect Environment
Bhagwat also spoke about environmental protection. He highlighted the need for a coordinated policy to conserve rivers and nature in Uttarakhand. He said local communities must take an active role in protecting natural resources. According to him, development should not come at the cost of the environment.
