Noida, May 29, a 21-year-old man from Kerala, was reportedly arrested for smuggling marijuana in a luxury car registered in Delhi, Noida, police said on Thursday. Suspects, known as Hirisikesh Damodar, lived in a friend’s apartment for high growth in sector 134 in recent days.
According to police, Man arrested in Noida on Wednesday afternoon found a regular investigation of the vehicle near the sector 134. When the authorities flagged by a white Mercedes-Benz C29, the driver tried to escape and ended the vehicle in a road that divided. He was arrested soon.
Sector 126 SHO Bhupendra Singh confirmed that the vehicle was searched, and officers discovered three packets of marijuana weighing approximately 6.8 kilograms. In addition, 500 grams of high-quality marijuana, estimated to be worth around ₹3 lakh, was also found inside the car.
A police officer involved in the investigation, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that Damodar had arrived in Noida four days earlier. During his stay, he purchased a second-hand Mercedes C 200 and was introduced to an illegal delivery operation through a friend. “He was told he could earn a commission by buying marijuana online and delivering it to another buyer,” the officer said.
SHO Singh added, “He was en route to deliver the consignment in Delhi when he was intercepted. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Sector 126 police station, and further investigation is ongoing.”
